What is a Silicon Valley Learning Journey?

A Learning Journey is a holistic development process — personal, individual, and topic-driven — designed for leaders navigating digital transformation. It provides concrete answers to the questions that matter most: Which trends and disruptive business models directly affect my company and industry? Where are the technological solutions that secure my competitiveness? What priorities should I set in my digital agenda? How do I align my leadership team around the challenges of digital change?

We know that technological transformation only succeeds when hard facts and human factors work together. A Learning Journey enables learning in the fullest sense — it's all about mindset.

How does a Learning Journey work?

Every Learning Journey is individually prepared around the specific challenges of the participating companies. This begins with a Preparation Masterclass where these challenges are identified and defined. Through a pre-screening process, research centers, startups, and established companies in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area are personally selected and briefed in advance.

During the Silicon Valley week, participants visit approximately 20 of the most relevant companies, startups, experts, and universities. Daily learning sessions enable direct learning from practice and from the best organizations in the world. An Implementation Masterclass back home ensures that what was learned gets put to work.

Silicon Valley Learning Journeys move companies, leaders, and teams from the comfort zone into the learning zone.

Who is a Learning Journey for?

Digital transformation affects every industry, every company size, every function — so none of these are criteria for participation. Our Learning Journeys are for entrepreneurs and leaders who want to secure the long-term future of their organization, who understand that learning is a process of development, who choose to shape their future rather than manage it, who want to live up to their potential, who are ready to seize their opportunities, and who have no appetite for waste and frustration.

This is learning with head, heart, and hands.

What do you gain from participating?

You receive a compact, concrete overview of the threats and opportunities of artificial intelligence — not through presentations or site visits, but through direct exposure to how the world's most forward-thinking organizations actually work. You discover concrete tools for greater productivity, efficiency, and speed. And you leave with a clear picture of how your own organization can develop and grow.

Which companies, industries, and company sizes is a Learning Journey suitable for?

Digital transformation affects every part of every organization — every size, every industry, every function. None of these are criteria for participation.

Our Learning Journeys are for entrepreneurs and leaders who want to secure the long-term existence of their organization, who understand that learning is a process of development rather than an event, who choose to shape their future rather than administrate it, who are ready to live up to their full potential, who want to seize their opportunities — and who have no appetite for waste and frustration.

This is learning with head, heart, and hands.

Dies ist ein Lernen mit Hand, Herz und Hirn.

Why do the Learning Journeys take place in the Silicon Valley / San Francisco region?

The San Francisco / Silicon Valley region is one of the most dynamic ecosystems in the world — the result of a unique combination of exceptional talent, successful companies, available venture capital, and world-class universities. While "innovation tourism" is constantly searching for new destinations and new attractions, the numbers speak for themselves: 10,200 startups, $39 billion in venture capital, and 32 unicorns created in the region in a single year.

We know that these conditions cannot be replicated one-to-one in Europe. But we can learn enormously from the Silicon Valley ecosystem — and use those learnings to strengthen our own European capabilities, secure the long-term future of our companies, and protect the jobs that depend on them.

How should you prepare for a Learning Journey?

The Preparation Masterclass gives you everything you need to arrive in Silicon Valley ready to make the most of every conversation and encounter. Your personal learning agenda is sharpened, and you receive concrete guidance on how to navigate and network within this ecosystem — including your LinkedIn profile, how to pitch yourself and your company, and the do's and don'ts of engaging with founders, investors, and executives in the Valley.

Since this workshop takes place six to eight weeks before the journey, you also have time to prepare with the following reading list:
